Wedding Wednesday: Last Minute Ceremony Dresses

Hi friends & Happy Wedding Wednesday!
I hope you all are still staying safe & getting a little more used to this quarantined life. I know I have! Today has been a bit more fun than the others because I just got to see photos from my bridal portrait session I had back in March and O.M.G. I am OBSESSED. I wish wish wish I could share them on social media but unfortunately, that will have to wait until after the “big day”. Only a handful have seen my dress and I’d like to keep it that way. Fingers crossed August 29th will get to happen for Henry & I where all can see the dress and celebrate in person with us!

Speaking of dresses. When I got word that we’d have to postpone our wedding, I of course just like any bride was not only saddened by the news but immediately freaked out because I knew that meant I’d want to get a new dress. As many of you know, we chose to still get married that day (read more about it here) and I did not want to wear my original dress for our very lowkey ceremony which meant I had 2 weeks to find something for our intimate ceremony. I was sooo not in the mood to look for a new dress especially because it took me 13, yes THIRTEEN stores to find my original dress #picky. SO the thought of having to find another dress was not so exciting. I went from choosing a dress I planned to wear for my bridal shower to ordering 3 dresses online and picking just about every white dress I had in my closet LOL. I swore I was going to wear a midi-length dress and ending up wearing a floor-length dress and thank God that I did because I ended up LOVING my last minute dress. So with that being said, I’m here to help other brides who may be in the same situation I was. Trust me when I say I looked at just about every online store there was. Some of my favorites stores that gave me plenty of options were Revolve, Lulu’s, and BHLDN. A few others I looked at were Red Dress Boutique, Selfie Leslie, and Shopbop. I wanted a website that I knew could get me the dress in a short amount of time and someone who had a good return policy because again, I ordered more than enough dresses and did not plan to keep them all. It also didn’t hurt that these stores have pages where you can look at only white dresses! As many of you know, I ended up going with this dress from Lulus but my backup dress was this one from Revolve. The dress I really wanted was originally found on Pinterest and after research, I found a boutique here in Houston that sold the same dress. Unfortunately, they did not have my size in stock but it doesn’t hurt to reach out to your local boutique and asking if they would be willing to let you rent the dress from them! Down below I’ve listed a TON of dress from $89 to $900ish that I think would look great for any last-minute ceremony whether it’s on the beach, in a courthouse, in a venue, or in your living room! I tried to choose for all types of price budgets because for me (personally), I was in such freak out mode that I was okay with spending up to $1,000. THANK GOD I DIDN’T and was able to find one for around $100! Pro tip: make a board on Pinterest called “Other White Dresses” and pin all options for you so you can look at them on one page. This is what I did & it was SO nice not having to go from one tab to another to look at them all. See my board here! Also, keep in mind that rewardStyle only works with certain stores so unfortunately, you will not see any dresses from Lulu’s, Azazie, or other online stores linked below BUT you can find those on my Pinterest board where I have even more options as low as $50!

If you’re a bride, I hope this post helped you as much as it would’ve helped me weeks ago. And if you’re not a bride, I hope you still found some great options for a white dress for any occasion (other than someone else’s wedding, of course!) Let me know in the comments down below where you like to shop for dresses!
Xx, Es <3
