My Everyday Cruelty Free Makeup Routine

Hi Babes!
Earlier this weekend I shared a tweet from PETA that said “It’s 2019. If you’re still using makeup that was tested on animals while there’s an abundance of #CrueltyFree options at accessible places like Target, Walmart, Ulta, Sephora, etc., get with the times.”. Then asked if you’d like to know what my everyday cruelty-free makeup routine was & so many of you DM’d me saying yes! So here I am to show you what beauty products I use everyday.

This post is very near and dear to my heart because if you know me then you’d know I recently stopped supporting companies and brands who choose to test their products on animals. Now before I go on let me just give a huge disclaimer and say, I am not perfect and not everything I do is cruelty-free BUT I AM changing little by little and it’s started with skincare and beauty products. With all of that being said, let’s start with the first product in my everyday makeup routine and that’s PRIMER. I will be listing 2 options for each. One being very affordable and the other being a bit more “high-end”. I typically use the more affordable stuff during the week and my “high-end” products on the weekednds.

Primer: Hangover Replenishing Face Primer ($34) / e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer ($8)
I don’t really use primer unless it’s on the weekends or for a special occasion but when I do, I use the Too Faced Hangover Primer. I really want to get my hands on the e.l.f. porless putty because I have heard nothing but great things about it!

Foundation: Too Faced Born This Way Foundation ($39) / wet n wild Photo Focus Foundation ($5 – $8)
Both of these foundations are perfect for me in giving me the full coverage I need!

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer ($27) / Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer ($7)
Tarte’s shape tape was an easy duh! Who doesn’t use this? & the revolution concealer I hear is a great dupe for it! I have not tried it yet but plan to soon.

Setting Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($23) / Milani Make It Last Setting Powder ($10)
I love both of these powders, they both do a great job!

Brows: ABH Dipbrow Pomade ($18) / Milani Brow Fix Kit ($8)
I actually have never used the ABH Dipbrow but that’s only because I am no MUA (lol), I have on the other hand been using the Milani Brow Fix for yearsssss now and LOVE it.

Bronzer/Contour: Chocolate Soleil Bronzer ($30) / Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer ($10)
Both bronzers are great but the physician’s formula in my opinion is best for bronzing only and not contouring.

Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush ($28) / Milani Baked Blush ($6 – $8)
Two blushes I’ve used for years and love!

Highlight: DESI X KATY Fuego ($28) / Heart Defensor X e.l.f. Highlighter Palette ($8) or Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder ($5)
All three highlighters are buildable to give you the blinding look you might want. Unfotunately the Heart Defensor X e.l.f. highlighter can only be bough online but it’s SO good. You wont regret the purchase!

Eyeliner: e.l.f. Expert Liquid Liner ($2)
This has been the only eyeliner I’ve used for the past 5 years and I love it. I’ve tried to try others but for me, none compare!!

Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($24) / Pixi Large Lash Mascara ($16)
I have not used the Pixi mascara but I hear great things about the brand! The better than sex mascara on the other hand is an all time fav!

Lashes: Ardell Demi Wispies Black ($3+)
The only lashes I use! As much as I want to use other lashes, I just cannot get myself to pay the price!

Lash Glue: DUO Eyelash Adhesive ($9)
Only lash glue I’ve ever loved!

Setting Spray: Morphe Continuous Setting Mist ($16) / Milani Make It Last Setting Spray Prime + Correct + Set ($10)
Love both setting sprays! The only difference is paying a bit more to have the continuous mist effect because there IS a difference between a mist and a spray.

I know shopping for a specific type of makeup can seem discouraging but I want you to know that finding cruelty makeup is not difficult. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You can find cruelty free makeup in all stores. Not just Sephora. Yes, a lot of big name brands at drugstores like Maybelline & L’Oréal are unfortunately not cruelty-free but you can still support other brands who are just as affordable, if not cheaper. Some of my favorites are wet n wild, e.l.f. cosmetics, Physicians Formula, and NYX. I hope this post was helpful for you and I hope you will join me on this journey of supporting brands who choose to NOT test their makeup on sweet and helpless animals. What’s your favorite cruelty-free beauty product? Let me know down below in the comments!
Xx, Es <3
